Neon Tiki Tribe Party

Thanks to Mommy Parties we got to host another awesome party.  This time it was all about Neon Tiki Tribe

Things can't get any better when you can have a party, and have fun while being educational.

The Neon Tiki Tribe is a team of super-positive super-heroes featured in this all-new book series. Showcasing rich colors, moral stories, and a font created to help the nearly 1 in 10 kids with dyslexic symptoms, these books all have a moral story and serve as great conversation starters with parents, grandparents, and care-givers.

The kids got a chance to review all the characters, and decide who fit their personality most.  Tia the smartest one, Zeke the leader, Mowah the strongest one or Dar the fastest one.

They put on their powerful glasses, and got ready for the story!

We read the Dog Rescue Mission Book.

At the end of the story, we did a little interview with a few "special" guests.  The kids had fun with that.

Of course we had some Neon Tiki Tribe inspired food.

Check out some of our Neon Tiki Tribe Heros!

Glade Expressions Collection Bzz

As a Bzz Agent I got the chance to try the new Glade Expressions Collection.

First I tried the Glade Expressions® Fragrance Mist.  It's refillable and looks fashionable.  I tried the Cotton & Italian Mandarin scent, and I love it.  I couldn't believe how large of an area one mist covers, and it lasts a while.  I orignally put it in the kids bathroom, and I liked it so much, I moved it over to the kitchen/dinning room area.

Next I tried the Glade Expressions® Oil Diffuser.  It's a non-electric refillable oil diffuser.  It looks really nice, and blends in with my house decorations perfectly.  I'm always a little skeptical with oil diffuser, and how large of an area they actually cover.  I do think this one covers a little larger area than most.  I tried the Pineapple & Mangosteen, and I think it smells great.

I had a hard time finding it in stores, and then even a harder time finding a choice in fragrances, but hopefully they will become more available soon.

Check out all the details over at Glade

Mummy Lights Halloween Craft

I saw the cutest picture for these Mummy Lights on Pinterest from Hi Sugarplum!, and I just had to give it a try.  They looked very easy to make, and since I'm not the craftiest, easy is a must for me.

Here's how I made them:

I just used a few empty glass jars I had around the house.  (I knew these would come in handy one day!).  You can use glasses, vases, or mason jars, anything will work.  Then, I bought some rolled gauze and google eyes from the Dollar Tree.  I used about three boxes of gauze.
The only additional thing I used was my trusty glue gun.
I started with a little bit of glue on the inside of the jar, and then started rolling the gauze around.  I went all the way to the bottom and then glued the gauze under the jar.
Glue some google eyes, and there you have it!
This was truly easy, and and very fast to make.
I have them displayed on a tray I had bought from Dollar Tree a while ago.
Now I just need to add some tea light candles in them, and they will look even cuter in a dark room.
If you try this, please send me pics of your finished products, I would love to see them!

Collageit Review

I love taking picture, and I'm always looking for fun ways to organize my pictures.  I was introduced to CollageIt, and I was eager to try out to see what I could come up with.

CollageIt is an easy-to-use photo collage maker for Mac OS X & Windows, which makes collage automatically. In a matter of seconds, this collage software can turn any ordinary photos into impressive collages.

It is very easy to use.  You can choose how many pictures to use, the background, frames, colors, and more.  The only thing I was really missing from this software was to be able to move my picture within the frame, or crop.  Apparently, if you upgrade to CollageIt Pro, you would be able to do that.  However, for a free software I think it's great!

Here's a little Step by Step of Collage it:
You Pick a Template.
Customize with colors, and sizes.
Save to your computer, share, or send.
A nice thing I learned from CollageIt, for bloggers out there, you can use a Collage you make as your blog background or twitter background.

Here's a couple of collages I made.

It really took no time to make, and it's a fun way to put a series of similar pictures together.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Premama Review & Giveaway

Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink with DHAI know what your first question is going to be.  And the answer is NO, I am not pregnant again!  (For those of you who don't know, I have four little ones, ages 6 and under, and I am taking a break right now).

So now you are probably wondering why I would try out Premama, Prenatal Vitamins.  Well, I wondered that myself, and I learned that you don't have to only be pregnant to take it.  Premama is also great is your are trying to conceive, and are nursing.  But even if you don't qualify for any of the above, consider that some doctors and organizations suggest all women ages 15 to 50 take prenatal vitamins every day, as about 50% of all pregnancies are unplanned.  That makes sense to me!

So what is different about Premama than any other prenatal vitamin?
  • Premama is vitamin drink mix.  No huge pills that can make a pregnant woman nauseous.
  • It's all natural.
  • Only 6 Calories.
You can mix it with any non-carbonated cold beverages.  You can even just put it in water, but I prefer it with juice.  It's great in iced tea too.

Premama is complete with all the key prenatal vitamins and minerals that help reduce the risk of some birth defects by 70% and promote healthy fetal development.  Check out all the nutritional facts HERE.

The Premama Vitamin powder come in small packets with the option of taking 2 packs in one serving or splitting them up during the day. It is recommended to take them with 6 oz of fluid per pack and consuming within 5 minutes of mixing.

I took Premama as I was recently still nursing my daughter, and like they suggest it would not be a bad idea for all women to take prenatal supplements.  Though I don't usually have problems with pills, I think it's great that it offers women another option to take their vitamins.

Premama and MomSelect have allowed me to give one Kids and Deals reader a  30-day supply of Premama!    Enter through the rafflecopter link below.

Disclosure: I received a 30 day supply of Premama to write this review, all opinions are 100% mine.  I did not receive any other forms of compensation.

Marlow and the Monster by Sharon Cramer Review and Giveaway

Book, Reading, Mischief ....Some of the favorite things in our home.  Sharon Cramer, the author of Marlow and the Monster, sent us a copy to read and share with you guys, and let me tell you, this is definitely becoming one our favorite night time stories.

Marlow and the Monster is a very cute story about a boy named Marlow who is being bothered by a monster every night.  When he calls his parents, they tell him monsters don't exist.  Marlow gets very annoyed as the monster, who thinks he's scary, keeps getting him in trouble.  Marlow decides to give the monster to his sister.  His younger sister is the one who shows Marlow a different side of the monster, and Marlow and the monster become best friends.

We recently moved, and ever since, the kids have been afraid of monsters in their rooms.  I love that this story turns the traditional "monster story" around, and the monster is just looking for a friend, while Marlow is not afraid.

The boys loved the story.  I could almost see fear in their eyes when I started the story, and then the fear turned from curiosity to enjoyment by the end of the book.  I think that showing them a different perspective of a monster, definitely eased their fears.

Sharon Cramer is the author and illustrator of the book.  The illustrations are beautiful, they are made of quill pen and ink, and the only color is the monster to represent the fact that only the children can see him.

Marlow and the Monster is the 4th book by author Sharon Cramer. She is the author of The Cougar Cub Tales, as well as her first full length novel, The Execution, and is working on a young adult, fantasy series called The Cerulean Star.

You can learn more about Sharon by visiting her website, Facebook Fan Page, or Twitter.

Sharon has generously offered one of Kids and Deals reader to win their own copy of Marlow and the Monster.
~If you just have to have it now, you can buy it Here or on Amazon.~

Non-Permanent from Nice ‘n Easy

Do you ever wonder what you would look like with lighter hair?  Or maybe darker hair?  I just learned that you can find out with Nice'n Easy non-permanent, without any real commitment (well 28 shampoos).

I have dark blond hair naturally, and I always get highlights, but secretly I always wondered what I would look like with darker hair.  I was so excited when Vocalpoint asked me to give the New Non-Permanent Hair Color from Nice 'n Easy a try.  It basically lets you date a new hair color before you commit. It gradually washes out within 28 shampoos so you can flirt with a handsome new shade before you get (hair) tied down.

So I gave it a try.  Here's my hair before the color (yes bad roots):

I tried shade 78 Medium Golden Brown.  Here are the results: (no more roots)

Ok, so the difference isn't huge on the pictures, but it is much more noticable in person.  Unfortunately, the bleached highlights didn't disappear, but I knew that would happen.  I still love the fact that I was able to try a little darker shade and I like it.  Next, I'm "flirting" with either a darker brown or a deep mahogany auburn.  I love that it is all non-permanent, and you can really just try it out.

Non-permanent hair color is great for first-time colorers.
The whole process was very easy, didn't take long, and you can easily do it alone.  Just watch your clothes, it can stain!

DISCLOSURE: I received a coupon for a free box of Clairol Nice 'N Easy hair color from Clairol and Vocalpoint to try and review.

Headline Shirts Review & Giveaway

I am so happy to have found Headline Shirts, and even more excited that get to tell you guys about it.

They're a company based out of San Francisco, CA, where they make hand-sewn shirts using a super-soft, poly/cotton blend. They use only Eco-friendly inks and materials right down to the compostible bags they ship the shirts in.

Headline shirts are "intelligently funny tees" as they call them, and they have some for everyone's taste.  They carry men's, women's, and children's shirts, as well as accessories.  They have so many fun shirts to go through that I had a hard time deciding which one I wanted, and I had so much fun reading through all the options.

I was able to find a shirt that would be perfect for everyone in my family, I am definitely going to consider these as Christmas presents.
Headline Shirt
I finally decided to get the "98% YOU" shirt, and what's great is that you can pick the design you want, and then decided whether you want a men or women's shirt.  I love the fit, it's so comfortable, yet still very feminine.
I really appreciated that the shirt came with a little card with instructions on washing, and whether it will shrink or not.  The fit of the shirt is great for me, so I will not put it in the dryer, but if it comes slightly big for you, once in the dryer might do it.

They have so many other choices. My husband really loved the "Political Mind" one, I will not post it here, as I don't want to offend anyone on this kids friendly blog. (It's really not bad, I'm just staying on the safe side).

I loved these for my kids

Or how about this fun wallet!

NERF FireVision Bzz Report

Already thinking what to get your kids for Christmas?
As a Bzz Agent, I got to try the new NERF FireVision Sports with my boys, and I would definitely recommend it if you have boys ages 6 and up.

Here's a little about it from the company:
Grab a friend and fire up your game with the FIREVISION football. Glowing bright, day or night, FIREVISION Football keeps you playing at the top of your game! Only you and other players equipped with the awesome FIREVISION Frames can see the incredible glowing path carved through the air by the FIREVISION Football. Choose your team, and change the color of the glow with red or green FIREVISION Frames. With a range over 100 feet/30 meters, the FIREVISION Football is the ultimate ball to bring glow to your game.

The kids couldn't even wait to get that box openned!  We had a hurricane coming, so I was trying to get them to wait until the weather got better before opening it, but that wasn't happening!
The Firevision game looks really cool to kids, you get to wear cool green or red frame above your eyes, and play with a football that lights up when you look at it.
You can play during the day or at night, but I think it serves more purpose at night.
I like that the frames are battery powered so you don't need to charge them.
The kit comes with a football and two frames, but you can get more frames separately if you need more.
I let my twelve year old nephew and his friends play with it, and they had a blast.  It can definitely be enjoyed by wide range of ages.
  • NERF FireVision Hyperbounce Ball $9.99 (includes one pair of FireVision frames).
  • NERF FireVision Nerfoop $14.99 (includes one pair of FireVision frames).
  • Additional NERF FireVision Frames $5.99 (available in red or green).
Find it at,,, and more.
