Xlear SparX Review

I'm about to tell you about a product that will make your life so much easier with your kids.

Try to imagine yourself telling your kids, "Go ahead, have some candy, it's good for your teeth!".

Don't laugh thinking this is the funniest joke you've ever heard, it actually exists.

Xlear SparX are naturally flavored little candy "dots" that are rich in Xylitol.  Xylitol, unlike other sugars, may reduce the risk of dental caries.

We got try this candy thanks to Moms Meet, and it was a huge hit with the kids.  My husband and I thought it was actually really good too.

I love that I didn't have to feel guilty letting my kids have a few pieces of candy.  On top of not feeling guilty, I kind of felt good that it was actually helping their teeth.

Here are some facts about Xlear SparX:
  • It is sweetened naturally with xylitol, a plant-based, dentist-recommended sweetener that's been proven to improve dental health and strengthen tooth enamel.
  • It doesn't interfere with the body's blood sugar levels or insulin production, making it safe for kids and adults on a sugar-controlled diet.
  • It's available in Berry, Citrus, and Fruit varieties; all free of artificial colors and flavors.
It's available to purchase online, and in most health stores for only $1.49.

Disclaimer: I received this  product for free from the sponsor of the Moms Meet program, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer.  As a Moms Meet blogger, I agreed to use this product and post my opinion on my blog.  My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions on May Media Group LLC or the manufacturer of the product.

Skeleton Halloween Gift

I have been looking for a while around Pinterest for what kind of gift I could make my niece and nephews for Halloween.

I definitely didn't want to get them candy, as they will get way too much candy anyways.  So I finally found this post from Wants and Wishes, and settled on making these "Scary" looking food skeletons.

I knew mine would not look as professional as the original post, but here's my best try!

I started by baking a brownie.  I usually like it very gooey, but I baked a little longer to make sure it wouldn't fall apart as I was cutting it.

I gathered a few supplies.  Orange ribbon, lollipop sticks, food coloring and a paint brush.  If you can find and edible marker it would probably easier, I just couldn't find it at the store.

I bought some yogurt covered pretzels.
You will also need marshmallows.  Then paint or draw some Halloween faces on them.

Then assemble them all together, and wrap it in a clear plastic treat bag, and there you have it.
My kids were so jealous I was making that for their cousins, that I had to make a few extras for them.
What Halloween gifts have you made?

SafeSkin First Aid Antibacterial Gel Review & Giveaway

Have your kids started their fall sports yet?  I have two boys in soccer right now.  You know scrapes and cuts are going to happen.  And if not at soccer practice, it'll happen playing at the playground or in the yard.  That's why I was excited to try the new SafeSkin first aid antibacterial gel.

SAFESKIN Kids Antibacterial Gel from Kimberly-Clark Professional is a new first aid topical antibacterial gel that provides a barrier to MRSA, highly contagious staph bacteria that can infect skin, invade other parts of the body and is resistant to many antibiotics.

They got me on the MRSA!  I do clinicals at the hospital and I know I don't want myself or anyone in my family to get that!

SAFESKIN Kids Antibacterial Gel offers a long-lasting protective barrier on uninfected minor cuts, scrapes, and burns - up to 48 hours - if the bandaged wound stays clean and dry. And the non-greasy formula helps bandages to stay in place better!

The nice thing is that you don't have to worry about taking a sticky bandage off everyday.  If the bandage is on a hairy part of my kids' bodies, they scream when I try to take it off.  With SafeSkin as long as you keep the area clean, you don't need to change the bandage everyday.

Of course, out of 4 kids, I knew it wouldn't take long until I would get to try SAFESKIN out.  My son got a big scrape on his arm from playing outside, so I put SAFESKIN on him, and I love that it wasn't the usually gooey cream you put on.  It felt fine to him, we put a bandage on, and didn't have to touch it again for a couple of days.  I liked the piece of mind that it wouldn't get infected.

I also like that it is designed for kids, that way I know that all the ingredients are safe for them.

BUY IT:  You can find it at select Walmart stores.

Starting next week, you can get $1 Off SafeSkin with this coupon.  Print it soon.

WIN IT: One Kids and Deals reader will win their own tube of SAFESKIN.  Enter the rafflecopter form below.

Purex plus Oxi Review & Giveaway

Did you know Purex plus Oxi works against over 101 different stains!  That is perfect for my son's clothes, because if anything can stain, it gets on his shirt!

The three stain-fighting enzymes in Purex plus Oxi each work against different types of stains for the most Purex stain-fighting power you can get.
When I can find something that will help remove stains, I'm always excited to try it.  I already use Purex as a detergent so I was happy to see that I can keep my usual brand, and get a little more out of it.
I was also really excited to learn that with Purex plus Oxi, I don't need to buy a separate product to pretreat stains.  You can use it as a pretreater!
So here came the real test.  This time it was actually one of my daughter's shirts, that had a "nice" little spaghetti sauce looking stain on it.
I pretreated with Purex plus Oxi.  Waited 5 minutes, then put it in the washer with Purex plus Oxi as the detergent.
The result.....
The stain is GONE.
I really like it.  As moms we do enough chores around the house, that I think we deserve things to be easier for us!

And did I mention it smells great!
Don't forget to enter the NEW Purex plus Oxi Sweepstakes! There's about $6,000 in prizes to win!  I would love for Kids and Deals readers to win a little of that!
GIVEAWAY:  You can win a little something from Kids and Deals too!  Three Kids and Deals readers will each win a coupon to try Purex plus Oxi Free.  Enter through the rafflecopter form below.
Good Luck!

Disclosure:  Purex provided me with a sample of Purex plus Oxi so I could review it. However, all of the opinions expressed here are my own.

Bic Mark it Mission

As a member of Smiley 360, we got the chance to participate in the BIC Mark-It Permanent Markers mission.

Surprise in the mail.  We're on the mission!

Here's what came in our kit.  We had everything to decorate a mask.
  • 36 Bic Mark it Permanent Markers.
  • Feathers.
  • A mask.
  • Ribbons.
  • Glitter glue.
  • Rhine Stones.

Since there was only one mask, the kids got their pumpkins out and decided to decorate them as well.
Little one hard at work!
They drew the faces on the pumpkins with the Bic markers, and then added all the extras.
Here is one the finals products!  I helped a little with this one, they told me what to do, and I did my best to follow their instructions.
I'm not artistic at all, so this is the best it could look for me.

Here's another masterpiece!

And the final and scariest one of them all!
We had a lot of fun, the markers are great to use, and they come in every color imaginable.
I can already think of some Christmas and Easter crafts we can do with them.
Disclosure:  I received the mission kit for free from smiley 360 for my review.  All opinions are my own.

Halloween Bats Craft

The Bats have taken over our house this Halloween!
I saw this post here, and thought that would be a great idea to decorate for Halloween.
They were easy enough to make but a little time consuming for me, so my plan of making about 60 turned to about 20.  I still think they add great decor for Halloween.  The kids had fun finding them on the wall after school.
I put them on the wall with double stick tape, and once in a while one will fall, but it's easy enough to stick back up.
See the template for the Bats from Martha Stewart.
