20 Mule Team Borax Review & Giveaway

When I heard from being a Purex Insider that I would get to review the 20 Mule Team Borax, I couldn't wait to try it.
I had heard about 20 Mule Team Borax, but all I really knew about it is that it was used for laundry.  Well, I was right and wrong, Borax can be used for so many more things.

20 Mule Team Borax is 100% natural mineral from the earth.  Once removed from the ground it is washed, dried, and boxed for consumers. Nothing is added to it.

20 Mule Team Borax naturally softens hard water, which protects your detergent so it can maximize cleaning power.  When detergent is added to hard water, compounds attach to calcium and magnesium granules that settle on the bottom of your washing machine, eventually retreating down the drain without actually cleaning your clothes.

What I love about it, is that when you buy one box of 20 Mule Team Borax, you get a laundry booster, a stain fighter, and a multi purpose household cleaner.

I was excited to see how the stain booster worked.  The kids stained about everyone of their nice shirts over the holidays, and I needed help remove these stains.  You can pre-treat your clothes with Borax, or simply add 1/2 cup to every load.
I was very pleased with the result!  It didn't take every stain off, but it definitely removed more than detergent alone, and I'm thinking a second load will remove all the stains.

Here are some cleaning tips:
  • For scratch-free cleaning of stains, grime, and grease throughout the kitchen, use a 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax dissolved in one gallon of hot water on sinks, counter tops, cookware, refrigerators, microwaves, toasters, and any other appliance in your arsenal. You can apply this dilution of all-natural 20 Mule Team Borax to any surface including tile, ceramic, porcelain, slate, marble, granite and stainless steel.
  • You can also add a half cup of 20 Mule Team Borax to reduce water spotting, remove grime, and put a shine on dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
  • Power up your dishwasher detergent by sprinkling a 1/4 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax onto the bottom of the dishwasher to reduce spots and film on dishes and glasses.
  • Just dilute a 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax in a 12-ounce spray bottle of water to deodorize mattresses.
  • All-Natural Detergent Booster with Odor Control 20 Mule Team® Borax increases your detergent's power and controls odors to give you fresh, clean laundry.
